The ICW Tag Team Championships are the youngest titles in Insane Championship Wrestling, having only been in contention since late 2012. Since that time, every team in the highly competitive tag division has battle tooth-and-nail to win the coveted gold, with The S.T.I, The Bucky Boys and the New Age Kliq making up the list of former tag title-holders.
When the original belts became the possession of the New Age Kliq, the anarchic team decided to alter the straps with their own personal touch, spray-painting and defacing the belts to the point that they were almost unrecognisable. The ICW Tag Team Championship belts soon fell back into the possession of ICW however, and with the original belts ruined, it was the perfect time for some fresh gold.
As unveiled on ICW Worldwide, the ICW Tag Team Championships have been born again, with a sleek new look, just in time to be handed over to the brand new ICW Tag Team Champions, the Sumerian Death Squad. Tommy End and Michael Dante were victorious last month at ICW: Still Smokin’ in a Three-Way Ladder Match, where they defeated the NAK and the Bucky Boys to become the new champions. The SDS are a highly formidable tag-team who have competed all over the world, but for the last year, they have obsessed over the notion of becoming ICW Tag Team Champions and now, they have realised their dream. ICW has some of the finest tag-teams in all of professional wrestling, but it will take an extremely talented duo to rip the brand new ICW Tag Team Championship belts from the grasp of Tommy End and Michael Dante.
The Sumerian Death Squads first title defence has still to be officially signed, but their brand new belts will be up for grabs to anyone who steps up. Brand new Champions, brand new belts, and a brand new start for the ICW Tag Team division. Things are sure to get interesting as the completion heats up!
