If one thing has been proven during ICW’s previous two trips to Newcastle, it’s that Newcastle loves to see a good-old fashioned fight. Never one to ignore the fans, ICW GM Red Lightning has officially booked a match for ICW: Blow In the Cartridge on Saturday March 28th, that will see two of the heaviest hitters in Insane Championship Wrestling collide, and no doubt leave the 02 Academy Newcastle a very different place than it was before.
Violent, unpredictable and almost immovable, ‘The Beast of Belfast’ Big Damo is an athlete unlike any other. Over 20 stone of pure, undiluted rage, Damo is a mountain of a man who steam-rolls through opponents without prejudice or mercy. Recently showing an even more vicious side than usual, Damo has stated that he is sick of simply ‘treading water’ in ICW, and is ready to take what he believes is rightfully his; the ICW World Heavyweight Championship. With a monster like Damo gunning for the richest prize in British Wrestling today, it may only be a matter of time before the Beast gets his hands on the gold, but if there’s one man who could slow his momentum down, it’s Damo’s opponent at ICW: Blow In The Cartridge, Joe Coffey.
The current #1 Contender to the ICW World Heavyweight Championship, ‘The Iron Man’ Joe Coffey is on the roll of his career as of late, but his frustrations with ICW management, or more specifically Red Lightning, are becoming extremely evident. With their past history coming back to haunt him, Joe has found himself almost at the mercy of Red Lightning, who seems intent on hampering the Iron Mans momentum at every opportunity. Now, on the night before Joe is set to face Drew Galloway for the ICW World Heavyweight Championship at Barramania, Red Lightning has scheduled to Iron Man to face destruction personified. Perhaps Red is hoping to soften Joe up, and ruin his chances of becoming ICW World Heavyweight Champion, but Joe Coffey has proven time and again that his doubters only fuel his fire. With the odds stacked against him, and his frustrations currently through the roof, Joe may be more dangerous than ever, and it may be that motivation that helps him fell the savage beast that is Big Damo.
It’s a battle of the Heavyweights, the likes of which has rarely been seen before. Two monsters will collide, but will the ‘Beast of Belfast’ Big Damo step over the broken body of his opponent on his way to the ICW World Heavyweight Championship? Or will ‘The Iron Man’ Joe Coffey get some last-minute momentum before he steps into the biggest match of his career, so far?
